Ear-Defender models

These headsets are built around noise-attenuating earshells, offering hearing protection from typical industrial noise levels. The standard models employ Peltor H9 ear-defenders providing attenuation of external noise of up to 40dB in environments of sound levels up to 115 dB(A) over a frequency range of 200Hz to 4,000Hz. These are models with yellow earshells.

For environments with higher levels of noise the headset models are offered utilising the H7 (green) ear-defender shells.

These headsets are manufactured by us and use components of high professional specifications. They are designed to be robust and to provide long life in an industrial environment, while still offering excellent quality speech reproduction.

Models with noise-cancelling microphone on boom-arm

Two models of noise-cancelling microphone are available:

• electret condenser miniature type, illustrated on left, and

• a fully tropicalized moving diaphragm military grade.

Headset illustrated is model 651.

This model employs the miniature electret noise-cancelling microphone fitted on to a 'stay-put' flexi boom-arm. Offereing an unobtrusive yet robust and comfortable communications headset for high noise environments.

Tropicalized military grade microphone model: 601.

These headsets are supplied with position retaining bands, as shown, to hold the headset in position during head movements. These are adjustable, and also removable.

Throat Microphone Headsets

These are particularly suitable for extreme noise conditions or where a boom-arm microphone is impractical.

Two versions of throat microphone are available, and can be supplied fitted to either the H9 (40dB attenuation) or H7 (45dB peak attenuation @ 3000Hz) ear-defender shells.

Headset model H9TM2 (Pt.no.62)

Standard model of throat microphone, type 21430, is used on this model; pictured to the right.

Type numbers for the other models are:

• H7 ear-defender shells c/w standard throat microphone type 21430, model H7TM2 (Pt.no.63).
